Oracle VirtualBox is a platform to run multiple operating systems on a single machine. If you have a Windows laptop, there’s a general dilemma: you may want to install the Linux operating system on it. The traditional approach is first you have to uninstall the Windows OS and then proceed with installing Linux OS. However, what if you need both Windows and Linux operating systems on the same machine?
The solution is Oracle VirtualBox. This step-by-step guide will show you how to download and install Oracle VirtualBox on your Windows or Mac laptop/computer.
Before you begin, please ensure your machine meets the system requirements for Oracle VirtualBox. You will need:
- A Windows or MacBook laptop/desktop with OS installed
- Sufficient RAM (at least 4 GB recommended) for optimal performance
- Available storage space (Above 50GB recommended)
- CPU: Multicore Processor
Please follow the below steps to download and Install Oracle VirtualBox for your windows or Mac machine:
1.First open the link Oracle VM VirtualBox then click on download VirtualBox image where you can find the latest VirtualBox. Click on Windows hosts to download and Install oracle VirtualBox for your windows computer/Laptop. If you are using MacBook, then click on macOS / Intel hosts otherwise select your host accordingly.
2. Wait for the download to complete. Once downloaded, double click on the download VirtualBox software:
3.It will open setup wizard to install Oracle VM VirtualBox. Follow the installation wizard’s prompts. Click on Next to proceed:
4.If you want to change installation Location then change it otherwise click on Next:
5.Please ignore the warning. Just click on Yes to proceed with installation:
6.Again Click on Yes to proceed with the installation:
7.Now you are ready to install the oracle VirtualBox. Click on Install and wait for the installation to complete:
8.It will take some time. Click on next once installation is completed.
9.It will show VirtualBox Installation is completed. Click on Finish to exit the setup Wizard.
10.Congratulations! You have successfully downloaded and installed Oracle VirtualBox.
